ScreenTexto does not collect any personal data.

3. Screen Recording Permission

ScreenTexto requires macOS Screen Recording permission to function properly. This permission:

• Allows ScreenTexto to capture the screen area you select for text recognition
• Is requested only when you first attempt to use the capture feature
• Can be revoked at any time in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen Recording

All screenshots and OCR results are stored locally on your Mac in a dedicated folder set by the app. You can access this folder at any time via Finder — no hidden storage. The app does not transmit your screenshots or recognized text anywhere; everything stays on your device.

4. Local Processing Only

All text recognition (OCR) is performed locally on your device using Apple's native Vision framework. When you forward recognized text to external services like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google, Yandex, or Stack Overflow, the text is sent directly from your Mac to those services using your chosen browser — either your system default or a specific browser you select in ScreenTexto's settings (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge, Brave, Comet, Yandex). ScreenTexto does not act as an intermediary and does not log or store any text sent to these services.

5. No Internet Connection Required

ScreenTexto does not require an internet connection to perform its core functions (screen capture and text recognition). Internet access is used only for:

• Forwarding text to external services (if you choose to do so)
• Checking for app updates (optional)

You can disable automatic updates in the app settings.

6. Third-Party Services

ScreenTexto offers integration with third-party services (search engines, AI platforms, etc.). When you choose to forward recognized text to any such service, you are subject to that service's own privacy policy. ScreenTexto is not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties.

7. Children's Privacy

ScreenTexto is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.
